New Berlin Bathroom

S & K Remodeling completed a Master Bathroom remodel in New Berlin this summer which included removing walls of a recessed linen closet behind the shower.  We removed the contents of the bathroom down to the studs.  We reframed the shower to include a shower seat and a niche for storing shampoo.  We had to relocate some venting from the water heater to allow installation of the recessed medicine cabinet.  We added a GFCI protected outlet and relocated lighting to new height.  New drywall with a sand finish was installed to finish it off.

We installed a custom Pietra, Porcelain Beige, 13 x 13 tiled shower with Pietra Porcelain Beige, 2 x 2 tiled shower floor, tiled seat and niche.  We designed a custom tiled border with several rows of the 6 x 6 Pietra tile on a diagonal and a row of 2 x 2 across the top and bottom of the border.  The Pietra, 13 x 13 tile was installed on the bathroom floor on a diagonal which made the bathroom appear larger.  The wall behind the water closet and vanity was wainscoted with the same tile and the 2 x 2 border was extended out of the shower across the top of the wainscoting and finished off with a bullnose of the same tile.  Using the same tile throughout added texture and design without making it busy or chopped up.  The shower was completed with a frameless 3/8” glass shower door with oil rubbed bronze trim and two 18” towel bars.  The glass was treated with Clear Shield baked into the glass for ease of cleaning.

The faucet and valve trims in the bathroom were Kohler Devonshire in the Oil Rubbed Bronze finish.  We installed a Wood-Pro Prestige maple vanity in a medium finish along with a matching recessed medicine cabinet.  The vanity was finished with a Hanstone Maple Canyon quartz vanity top with a Kohler Caxton undermount sink in biscuit.  The new water closet is Kohler Cimarron comfort height with a round bowl and a matching biscuit Kohler Cachet seat.  We installed a new Ultra-quiet Broan exhaust fan and vented it to the exterior of the home.

We completed the project by painting the walls and ceiling, installed new base and shoe molding and installed a Kohler Devonshire towel ring, robe hooks and tissue paper holder.
